Essai Marketing — Video Shot Reference

AirWallex template analysis + adapted EdTech shooting guide
March 2026

1. Executive Summary

This document is a shot-by-shot production reference for filming Essai teacher success story videos. It adapts the AirWallex "Customer Success Story" template — a proven corporate video format — for EdTech.

Format Two AirWallex customer story videos were downloaded, frame-extracted at 1fps, and dissected shot-by-shot to reverse-engineer their production template. That template was then adapted with real Essai data, real teacher quotes, and real product metrics to produce a ready-to-shoot 90-second script.

6. Key Production Rules

  1. Name card appears ONCE — first interview shot, lower-left, then disappears
  2. Logo watermark ALWAYS visible — except abstract open and end card
  3. Feature text cards go OVER b-roll — not on plain backgrounds; the video behind gives it life
  4. Subtitles are non-negotiable — 85%+ of social video is watched muted
  5. Interview never looks directly at camera — eyeline to interviewer just off-axis
  6. Color grade matches the customer's world — LB got pink, schools get warm natural tones
  7. Outtake/laughter shot is essential — makes video human, not corporate
  8. All transitions are CUTS — no dissolves, no wipes
  9. Music drops during interview, swells during B-roll — never competes with speech
  10. Average shot length ~5–10s — keep it moving, never linger
  11. For HK: bilingual subtitles mandatory — Cantonese interview, Chinese above + English below

What We Have vs What We Need

Have: 799 questions, 114 templates, diagram engine, AI tutor, real student engagement data, real teacher quotes, 4 recorded meetings.
Need: (1) A willing teacher — Leslie/Renee to coordinate (寶血 or similar), (2) 3–4 hours at the school during class for authentic B-roll, (3) Screen recordings of Essai interface (capture remotely beforehand), (4) Student filming consent forms.
Non-negotiable: Every shot must be real. No stock footage, no AI-generated faces. If we can't film students, use over-shoulder shots showing only hands/screens. The AirWallex template earns trust because nothing is faked.
